Orange to sell iPhone Monday Sep 28th

UK mobile provider has signed a deal with Apple to start selling the iPhone 3G and 3GS later this year. O2's exclusive contract was due to expire in October and rather than continue in excusivity Apple has elected to inject a little competition into the market.

Orange have yet to announce prices or contract details but have launched a site allowing customers to register their interest in the phone.

While O2 has claimed that the iPhone has been a huge success for the company analysts in other markets have questioned how much profit the phone generated for networks given the subsidy they pay to Apple and the alleged percentage of contract costs they pay.
