Mobile Me - off to an early start? Sunday Jul 6th
Scheduled for launch on July 11th, Apples new Mobile Me service, the replacement for .Mac may be off to an early start. Mac forums have been reporting for a while that many members new Mobile Me e-mail addresses are working ahead of time.
In addition Apple appear to have started shipping Mobile Me boxes to customers with the comment that the activation code contained will work with immediate effect.
Mobile Me is designed to offer a cross platform syncing service along with various other "cloud" computing services. Users will be able to keep data current across multiple computers/iPhones and windows PC's. Long time users of the old .Mac style service have commented on the slow response times and unavailability of sync services for long periods and are hoping for greater reliability from Mobile Me.
